Chapter 22 - A Whole Suitcase... (Translator's Notes)

[1] Raws: 米虫 [mǐ chóng] Literal translation: ‘rice weevil’, used to compare someone to a rice weevil implying the only thing the other could do was eat (and maybe sleep). There is a longer, four characters version of this same idea. [2] Raws: 不省油的灯 [] Literal translation: ‘lamp that is not fuel-efficient’, used to imply that someone is troublesome (add trouble to a matter instead of simplifying it) or someone who isn’t easy to deal with. [3] Raws: 黑锅 [hēiguō] Literal translation: ‘black pot’, used to imply blame or infamy. [4] Raws: 不健康 [] Literal translation: ‘unhealthy’, read as: ‘not suitable for children’. [5] Raws: 咸鱼 [xián yú] Literal translation: “salted fish”, used to compare to people who are just lying there doing nothing. May also refer to an actual corpse. The main point is that something is just laying there. [6] Illicit services. More commonly seen from massage parlors though. The relationship maps probably went from massage parlors>> spas >> salons. [7] The ‘...

Unable to find Ji Anran, Geng Yan simply went to his friend instead. A good friend was presently sitting in some office in the base, working leisurely. "Geng Yan, you’ve arrived." When this good friend saw Geng Yan, his mood was very complicated. Geng Yan had a slight smile. "I’ve troubled you having to take care of my family’s Anran lately. By the way, he hadn’t run into any trouble in the base, right?" "He’s been doing quite well in the base. Didn’t you and Pan Weilong didn't get along before, well, his good younger brother - Pan Weihu - took a broccoli and went to find Ji Anran, saying that he would support him his entire life." Hearing this, Geng Yan's face stiffened. During the apocalypse, roses were far less popular when compared to broccoli. Broccoli was a fresh vegetable and so could be eaten, i...

Fierce Silk Flower - Chapter 21.2

Hello~ Here's the second part of Chapter 21~ And I also have good news for everyone~ A lot of authors like to write a larger chapter as their first VIP chapter and that happens to be Chapter 22 which was over 9k in raw characters. I was previously going to separate it into parts and the planned update would be like my usual up until now... But! A lovely Nebulae knocked on my door today and sponsored the entire chapter 22!  The raws were about 28 pages in a word doc... So it might actually take a while... But I promise it will be out by Friday~ Sorry about that! But again, it would all be posted in one update... That's still a perk, right? o.o Chapter 21.2 Chapter 21 Translator's Notes

Chapter 21 - You Seem To Be Covered In Green (1)

"Can I ask, where exactly did you hear from that there is a problem in my relationship with Geng- ge ?" "Didn’t you go look for a renowned metal ability user of the base today? What could that have been for if you weren’t looking for a new backer? The base is also not very safe, so if you still had Geng Yan's supplies and protection, why would you have taken the risks and came out?" Ji Anran: “......” Speaking of which, while you may not believe it, Geng Yan went out this time precisely to buy a new house to keep me in [1] ! If it wasn’t that I wanted to get back together with, even without touching him, I would still be able to permanently live in his house free of charge~ Seeing that Ji Anran didn’t respond, Pan Weihu thought he must have hit the mark, and so continued to offer...

Chapter 21 - You Seem To Be Covered In Green: Translator's Notes

[0] This is in reference to the “green” of the title. In Chinese, there is a phrase going by “to wear a green hat” which implies the wearer has been cheated on, typically used on males only. This, therefore, extends to a bunch of “green” derivatives that also implies that one had been cheated on by their partner. [1] Raws: 金屋藏娇 [jīnwū cáng jiāo] The literal translation is ‘to hide [something] fragile or delicate in a golden house’. It is quite similar to the concept of a “gilded cage” in the English language. Typically this saying is used towards a young lover or a mistress, whom one is hiding away (for whichever reason). [2] Raws: 花心 [huā xīn] Same term is used for: fickle in love, promiscuous, infidel, and unfaithful. The literal translation is ‘center of a flower’, so, I guess, one can allude to the fact that a flower’s pollen is not exclusive to any bee and would welcome both bees and butterflies~ [3] Raws: 不够人塞牙缝 [bù gòu rén sāi yá fèng] Literal translation: not enough to even fil...
