Ji Anran being the first to make a move was a sudden turn in events to the others.
They had assumed, given that Ji Anran was alone, there was no way that the other would dare to act rashly and mess around.
Who could know... He was precisely such a madman!
Seeing that the people on the second floor were finally willing to jump out, Ji Anran smiled, as his action became even more incomparably savage.
"I had even thought you guys were going to keep hiding for the rest of your lifetimes. What’s there to be afraid of, I didn’t even bring any of the expired green sprays this time~"
Hearing his words, everyone’s, and not only the group that had been schemed by Ji Anran, faces changed one after another.
Of course, you wouldn't have brought it, it's enough to use a trick once! Even if you would want to use the same trick again, we won’t fall for it!
"Ji Anran, you brought this upon yourself!"
A man, who had been pitted previously, picked up a huge hollow concrete pipe in a gesture as if wanting to flatten Ji Anran.
Ji Anran dodged as he shooted arrows out.
"I'm going to beat you guys, you stalking perverts, you still want to reason[1]?"
Ji Anran’s sharp mouth was particularly impressive, able to bring out people’s anger just by saying a few words.
"Ah!"
Shot by an arrow, a man who was still secretly watching from the side fell down, seemingly unable to understand when exactly Ji Anran, who was still being entangled by that group, had found him.
Aside from the team that had been forced to come out by Ji Anran, the rest were still in hiding. On the one hand, they wanted to wait for a good opportunity to attack Ji Anran; while on the other hand, they wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to reduce one another[2].
Although someone out of those still hiding in the dark got killed, still no other team chose to come out at this time.
"Captain, the black market would only open at night. There isn’t anyone else around right now except Ji Anran and us who came for revenge. I'm certain I wouldn’t have made a mistake," the person in charge of investigating reported.
The team leader nodded but was still puzzled despite all their ponderings.
"Pay more attention to the ground, see if there are any earth-ability holders hiding nearby."
"I had also paid attention to this, but I only found one nearby, who’s part of one of the teams that came to seek revenge. Ji Anran really is on his own. Isn't he afraid of death?"
The team leader’s expression was solemn. "That is precisely what I can't figure out this entire time. Could there be some sort of a secret weapon in that crossbow bag he is carrying?"
The strength of that team Ji Anran forced out wasn’t bad but still didn’t have any advantage over Boss Ji at all.
His foresight was just too strong, and he was also fast. It was as if he had eyes on his back, even able to avoid the attack of others. He was able to anticipate his opponent's next move, sending them to their death with just one arrow. That fierce and ruthless decisiveness made these people's hearts tremble.
Seeing the several corpses on the ground, Ji Anran made a great pretense and sighed. "Really too dissonant. Such a perfectly good living person, why did no one save them?"
Bah!
A perfect good living person, then why didn't you give up killing them!
Those people who were still hiding in the dark like turtles cursed Ji Anran in their hearts, wishing they could just pounce over to knead and press Ji Anran [like clay].
But they knew that there were a lot of people hiding in ambush here. If they all were to attack at the same time, there was no way Ji Anran would be able to handle it all unless he was the thousand-armed Guanyin[3].
But they weren’t willing to do this. There were bound to be losses in the battle. They could obviously wait and watch others go exhaust Ji Anran first, so why should they waste their own manpower in vain? And if they lost too much of their own men, won’t they just end up getting killed by these other people with evil-intent?
The hearts of these different teams had never once been united.
Ji Anran pulled out an arrow, retrieving back his arrows one by one.
"I was careless, sigh..."
He originally didn’t bother to bring a backpack since he wasn’t going to bring any crystal nuclei, but looking at all the bodies on the ground, he sadly recalled that he didn't have a backpack to carry these spoils of war. There wasn't much spare space in the crossbow bag, so even if he tried, it wouldn’t be able to carry much.
Though feeling crushed, Ji Anran continued to pull out the arrows, whereas the hidden people started getting ready to make a move.
Ji Anran was precisely just a little white face who relied on the arrows. Were they really going to let him retrieve them all back... But they also didn’t want to deliver the pillow to the sleepy others[4].
Seeing that Ji Anran was almost finished retrieving all his arrows, a team finally couldn’t help it anymore and made their move.
"Brothers, let's make a move together and solve Ji Anran first! I only want to avenge my brothers who died, I don't want any of the supplies. Let’s go!"
A robust man incited, then took the initiative to jump out.
And then… All of the other hidden teams ignored him.
"Silly Big Brother, it mustn’t have been easy for you to live up to now just by your muscles!"
Ji Anran was out of breath from laughing but still jumped around very flexibly to avoid the flames.
While Ji Anran still had a smiling grin on his face, he wasn’t muddling along in his actions. He quickly finished up the others, leaving only the robust man left.
The robust man knew that his death was coming and was filled with grief and indignation. "You guys hiding this entire time, if you guys end up dying in Ji Anran's hands, it would only be something you guys brought upon yourselves!"
Ji Anran finished him with one arrow, the speed was just like a gust of wind.
Fool, even I wouldn’t have stepped out at a time like this. No one would be able to know whether one can last until the end, but there’s a 90% chance that the first one to jump out wouldn’t be able to last until the chaotic battle at the end!
After the two battles, these people also now knew that Ji Anran definitely didn’t only have that garbage of a weather forecast ability.
"This speed is so fast, he should be a speed-ability holder."
One of the team leaders' eyes lit up at this time following this idea. "Just as I said, there was no way Ji Anran would have foolishly run out like this to die. So he is a speed-ability user, certain that he would be able to run away and thus dare to take the risk!"
Taking care of them one by one, after Ji Anran finished off another small team, the remaining three teams in the dark finally couldn't hold back anymore and rushed out one after another.
Either way, there weren’t many teams left, but Ji Anran was only one person. Even if they didn’t manage to catch Ji Anran in the end, it would still be a good harvest if they can finish off the other two teams!
So these people each with their own ideas began to fight, and the situation became very chaotic.
[1] I’m not too sure about this last half here. Raw: “我揍你个跟踪的死变态, 你们还有理了?"
[2] Raw: 黑吃黑 [] literal translation: ‘black eat black’, means 'for one villain to take care of another’. Typically used as a means of regulating, ‘using poison against poison’, typically using “dark" means/people to eliminate those in a similar circle.
[3] Avalokiteshwara
[4] The original idiom is “making a wedding dress for another person." It references the situation that one is doing a deed (which one assumed was for their own benefit), only to find out that you weren’t the one who got to enjoy the results. >> Making a wedding dress + groom is your ‘lover’, but you’re not the bride.
