Wu Lichen walked to the door of the private room, then paused his steps and turned to look at Cen Simiao. Her face was full of unwillingness. Having noticed his line of sight, she glared back at him.

Wu Lichen pretended he didn’t notice and went over to take her hand.

But in one move, his hand was flung away.

He thickened his skin and went up to hug her shoulders.

As soon as he opened the door, what Liu Si saw was this couple’s intimate and loving appearance.

His heart, which was originally already unsettled, had now jumped up to his throat. But the artist next to him was still disdainful. It was clearly a relationship built on money, why pretend that there were any deep affections at all.

If Cen Simiao runs out of money, see if he will still be like this.

The artist looked at Wu Lichen again. His face really is quite good, there was a trace of jealousy. He pursed his lips again, so what? He also looked good, he just didn’t have a chance.

Wu Lichen didn't glance at him at all.

From the moment they entered the door, he was in front of Cen Simiao, giving her all his assiduous and thoughtful attention. It was as if he wasn't the one who played being moody last night. Cen Simiao had a shy smile on her face, her arm was hidden by the tablecloth as she groped around.

Wu Lichen reached for the teapot, looking downwards as he poured the tea.

All of a sudden, the muscles on his arm tightened and he paused a bit before continuing. He placed the cup in front of Cen Simiao, knitting his brows while his back was towards the other people, he then said in a soft voice, "It's a bit hot. Wait a while before drinking."

When he finally looked back up at Liu Si, his expression was honey-sweet again.

Cen Simiao pinched his thigh until even her hands were sore.

Yet Wu Lichen’s face didn’t even change a bit as he started, "Liu-ge, the reason that I’m here today, I’m sure you’re clear why?"

Liu Si had long wanted to interject, but the two of them hadn't even look at him, so he hadn’t been able to interrupt. So now he quickly said, "This was because I was dishonest. However, I also know how to be sensible."

He paused, then deliberately put on an embarrassed face.

He then looked at his artist again. "This child is just too stubborn."

The artist drooped his eyes, twisting his pants with his fingers, and sighed incredibly tenderly. Cen Simiao subconsciously looked over but then there was a sudden burst of pain on her hand.

She turned her head. Wu Lichen wasn’t looking at her, instead, he just stared at the artist. The emotions in his eyes were difficult to ascertain. "His heart is still not dead, instead very lively[3]."

The artist looked up.

Then the other heard him continue, "Unfortunately, the brain is too stupid, so wishing for too much will instead be a hindrance."

Another burst of pain on his thigh. There was tenderness between Wu Lichen's brows as he turned his head, Cen Simiao just happened to be staring at him.

The corner of his lips curved. "Even if I do become more good-looking, you still don't have to stare like this. How embarrassing."

Cen Simiao gritted her teeth and smiled shyly.

The artist kneaded his glabella, feeling a bit irritable, while his heart began to panic. The confidence he had just now lessened by a lot. He pressed down the anxiety and gently laughed. "Cen-jie, the tea shouldn’t be too hot anymore. Give it a try, the tea here isn’t bad."

Wu Lichen directly drank that cup of tea.

Without saying anything more, he took out his phone and sent over a photo to Liu Si.

There are three people in the photo. Two men were dressed fashionably and the photo clearly captured the two faces. One of them was looking with impatience and disgust at a raggedly-clothed tramp.

The other held a clean lunch box and a cold drink in his hands while he half-squatted to talk to the tramp, his eyes full of kindness.

Both of them are artists under Liu Si’s management. The impatient one was precisely this one in front of them who gave Cen Simiao a call.

Wu Lichen’s eyes curved. "I can give you this picture. Whether you use it… That’s your business. But I’m still waiting for your thank you gift."

The artist felt that something was wrong, so he went over to have a look and his face immediately became ugly. He had assumed that Wu Licheng would definitely do something to him, but Liu Si definitely wouldn’t just stand there and watch because if the reputation of one of his artists was ruined, the others would also be more or less affected.

However, he didn't expect that Wu Lichen would use this move instead.

Once the photo is sent out, with its strong contrast, coupled with some hyping, this was bound to become a hot topic. He would definitely get scolded miserably, while the other person... You can just imagine how many people would be praising them in the comments.

Both of them were lukewarm artists, not very popular. If Liu Si had to just give up on him alone, he would certainly not agree. But if after such a toss about, one of them manages to become popular, there was no pity in giving the other up.

The artist's lips paled and his heart suddenly jumped up to his throat. "Liu-ge, I..."

Before he could even finish, Wu Lichen got up and said, "I have nothing else to do here, so I'll go back first. Liu-ge, you two can continue drinking the tea."

Liu Si quickly got up, tightly clenching his phone, and sent them out with a smile on his face.

Wu Lichen led Cen Simiao and walked to the door. After a pause, he turned around and said, "Liu-ge, the tea isn’t hot anymore. You should quickly grasp this chance to drink it."

The artist's face turned pallid.

[3] In this case, ‘heart’ means intentions/desires/wishes. Specifically, the other’s intention to be kept by Cen Simiao had never died but was still jumping, quite lively.

The author has something to say:

My fault, my fault, had placed the draft and official version together and gotten them mixed up. Everyone can just pretend you saw nothing~
