The following day, everyone went out to harvest the vegetables that were growing alongside the grasses and weeds.
Afterward, they also went to collect and organize the things from the farmhouse, which took another three days.
After finishing everything up at the farmhouse, everyone got back into the car to return to the base.
The research institute of the base was located near the government building. It was quite a magnificent structure, fully evoking that sense that it was on the cusp of the latest technology.
The others had already gone back home to take care of their own business after getting their share of the supplies.
Whereas, while Wei Yanhua had always liked to annoy Geng Yan, this time, for some reason, he didn’t follow along but allowed Geng Yan and Ji Anran to go to the research institute together by themselves.
The door of the main entrance to the research institute was made of reinforced tempered glass, which was very strong. There were also armed bodyguards who stood guard both inside and outside of the Institute, such that it could cause one’s heartbeat to speed up from simply a glance.

The sister at the front desk flipped to a form and began to record their information.

If I still held your hand to show off all around after breaking up with you, wouldn’t I be taking advantage of you?
Geng Yan then thought about it more carefully and found that he actually hadn’t taken any less advantage of Ji Anran even after breaking up.
So for a moment, Geng Yan couldn't refute it, and also didn't dare to refute it.
The sister just smiled and helped the two finish registering.
"It's almost time for those people in the lab to get off from work. There are some chairs here, you two can take a seat first. Geng Yan took out a large rooster and a white goose from his space. "These were the mutant animals that we had run into. When he turned to look back, he saw Chen Xiaohui who wore the Institute's white uniform. Chen Xiaohui was just standing there in the lobby of the Institute, staring at him with a very complicated gaze.
"Chen Xiaohui? Why would he be here at the Institute?" Ji Anran was at a loss.
Geng Yan's heart sank and he turned back to double-check.
“Don't know. This person’s intentions are bad, while his brain is anything but good. If he dares to do anything again, we’ll definitely be able to grasp onto him. Don't worry.”
"En."
After leaving the Institute, Geng Yan began to carry out his plan.
First, he prepared a table full of delicious food, feeding Ji Anran’s stomach up to its fill.
Ji Anran patted his round belly with a face emanating satisfaction. "So full. Geng-ge, just say it quickly, what's the matter?"
Geng-ge would never do anything without a reason, for him to make such a big table of delicious food so out of the blue, there was definitely something in plan waiting for him.

Ji Anran's small hand clenched, while his eyes revealed a struggle. "Geng-ge, if I get stronger, would you still let me go out to kill zombies?[4]"
"No matter how stronger it still won’t be as safe as staying in the base."
Ji Anran's expression immediately turned sullen and he turned his head away. "I understand. I still have something to do with Yanhua, I'll talk to you again later"
Geng Yan didn’t urge him any further but just sent Ji Anran to Wei Yanhua's home.
Although he very much disdained Wei Yanhua, Anran liked to wander around quite a bit, so it would be much safer if the other were to be accompanied by Wei Yanhua. Meanwhile, he was going to go talk to his friend to see if there has been any useful news lately.
Ji Anran collapsed on the sofa in Wei Yanhua's house with a face fully expressing that he had nothing left to live for, while holding a teacup. "I think Geng-ge is going to do everything in his power to keep me in the base this time."
"Actually... Why are you so persistent in trying to get back together? If you’re in a low mood, I can accompany you to chat. The tea wasn’t very scalding, it was just a bit hot. The thighs of Ji Anran's trousers were soaked, warm and soggy, it was a very uncomfortable feeling

He raised his eyes to look at Wei Yanhua, and his lips moved a few times but still didn’t manage to say anything.

Or even “...would you still not allow me to go out to kill zombies?” So… might be a typo?
