In front of the villa.
Cen Simiao got out of the taxi. Walking on high-heels, she got to the entrance, took out the key from her bag, opened the gate, and walked inside. As soon as she entered, a man came out of the house.
The cigarette in Hu Yinli's hand hadn’t been snuffed yet, the smoke in the air was suffocating.
She gave it a cold glance, then turned to walk further, heading into the house. Hu Yinli followed behind her. As the door closed, there was the sound of a shutter "kacha" not far away.
The young man with a baseball cap lowered his head to look at the photo, tutted a few times, then fumbled out his cell phone from his pocket.
"Ge, you were right. She really did come over here. I took the picture for you already, remember to pay me the extra."
When Cen Simiao got into the house, she found that everything on the table was gone. The vases, teacups, and even the floor lamps were gone. She figured they had all been smashed.
Hu Yinli exploded before she had even gotten the chance to sit down.
His voice was very loud, his eyes were gloomily-dark with anger within as if he wanted to bite people. Cen Simiao turned and looked at him, then sat down on the sofa without saying anything.
With an expression as if none of this had anything to do with her.
Hu Yinli became angrier and angrier. With shaking shoulders, he came to her side and grabbed Cen Simiao's arm, asking with gritted teeth, "Where had I treated you so poorly that you needed to do this to me!?"
"You’re living in such a big house. Other people would need to worry about work as soon as they graduate, whereas you can spend every day doing nothing at all. What aren’t you satisfied with?"
Cen Simiao's attitude was extremely cold and there were no emotions in her eyes. "You’re still saying these sorts of things at this point? Not planning to go salvage your business?"
Hu Yinli's chest heaved violently and he continued to stare at her with widened eyes. He stared at her for a long time with gritted teeth before unclenching and lighting up another cigarette. After exhaling a breath of smoke, the smoke still lingered in his vicinity.
Hoarsely: "I was confused from the anger, I just couldn’t stand what you did. At that time, I was momentarily confused, Xu Senni..."
Cen Simiao didn't wait for him to finish. "How is that my business? I'm afraid I don't have time to listen to your family matters.”
Hu Yinli was stunned, then his brows furrowed. "You say it’s none of your business, you..."
"That’s right, what does your matter have anything to do with me?" Cen Simiao raised her eyes to look at the other.
Hu Yinli lowered his head and continued smoking, only raising his head back up when half the cigarette was finished to ask, "You don’t plan to help? It’s been so long, there are feelings between the two of us. Moreover, at least... At least, I’ve never treated you poorly in terms of money."
Cen Simiao closed her eyes, leaned back against the sofa, and reached out to knead her glabella while the other was still harping on. She pursed her lips, then cleared her throat. "You could have not given me even a penny."
Hu Yinli’s words were suddenly jammed up.
He swallowed, feeling particularly irritable, then scoffed and proceeded to shed all pretenses. "What do you have to feel wronged about? Sure, I lied to you, and the certificate was also fake. But you haven't been taken advantage of at all, you’ve been eating well and drinking well for so long, I’ve never wronged you at all."
Cen Simiao indifferently looked on with her chin slightly raised. She was wearing a loose black blouse today, which made her neck appear delicate and her body slim; her tight jeans ended above her ankles, making her legs appear straight.
Sitting on the sofa with her legs together and slanted to a slight angle made them appear even more long and slender.
Though she was dressed casually, her lipstick was still a bright red. Her expression at the moment was a cold indifference, while there was even disgust within her eyes. What was supposed to be an incongruous pairing, was actually rather harmonious when she wore them.
She curved her eyes. "Mr. Hu, should I have thanked you for your generosity?"
Hu Yinli frowned. Seeing her manner now, he was stunned for a moment but then pursed his lips. Just as he was about to speak, he heard the other coldly sneer.
"It's not only physical contact that can make people feel delighted or joyful. Ever since you started cheating on me, there was excitement in your heart. Especially those times I asked you while crying when you were coming home, but you were actually hugging Xu Senni."
"Didn’t it feel invigorating?"
Cen Simiao's expression became colder and colder. "What you wanted was precisely this kind of exhilaration, so I gave it to you. When had I ever called without that sobbing tone?"
Hu Yinli looked at her and suddenly felt this person was very unfamiliar as if she was a stranger to him. When she had just entered the door, he only thought she was angry, and it was only at this moment that felt something wasn’t quite right. He opened his mouth, but inexplicably, he felt flustered.
Cen Simiao took out a pack of cigarettes from her bag, pulling one out to put one in her mouth, and lit it. "There are no free lunches in this world. You should understand this principle better than me."
