There are long trains of cars clogged up on the road with the light currently on red. The weather which was already turning cold just so happened to be muggy today, such that even if the windows were opened, there still wasn’t a trace of coolness at all.
Wu Lichen reached out to fumble a pack of cigarettes, pulling one out before pausing and placing it back again.
His phone screen suddenly lit up.
He abruptly straightened up and his eyes drifted to take a glance.
An advertisement push notification.
With pursed lips, he swiped across the screen and opened WeChat, then skillfully dragged up the chat rooms which were in the order of most recent all the way until he reached the bottom, which was a message from a week ago.
【I’ve moved out, I don’t want to trouble you anymore.】
Wu Lichen replied with an ‘en’.
The red light changed to green. He bit the tip of his tongue, tutted once, then gripped the steering wheel and stepped on the accelerator.
Cen Simiao rerented another house, where the money was what she managed to squeeze out with great effort. Now she was so poor that she hated how she couldn’t just sell those bags and purses that she had bought before. While she could certainly sell that variety show and Tv drama now, it would take a lot of time before it could actually be finalized.
She held her cell phone with a frown.
The system played one sighing BGM after another, hating the fact that she didn’t meet its expectations, completely playing foul what was originally such a good hand of cards. Originally, Wu Lichen’s favorability level was gradually rising bit by bit, but now, it would be considered fortunate if it doesn’t drop.
Cen Simiao listened as the system continued in this tone as if it hated the fact it couldn’t poke at her forehead with each word.
She cleared her throat. "Are you still not yet of age?"
The system asked her what she meant.
But suddenly, there was the sound of knocking, stunning Cen Simiao, her eyes then curved.
She lowered her hair, now slightly curled. A few strays were stuck to her small chin, extending to her fair and tender neck. Her t-shirt was also gently pulled to reveal her delicate clavicle.
With some drowsiness in her eyes that seemed to have a layer of mist, she looked a bit dull.
When the door opened, Wu Lichen's jaw was clenched tight and his eyes were gloomy. He stared at Cen Simiao for a long time already, but the other side seemed to have yet to react. Unable to resist, he raised his hand to tuck a wisp of stray hair behind her ear.
Then, he directly changed his shoes and walked inside.
His eyes scanned the house and confirmed where the kitchen was. He placed down the ingredients that were in his left hand without saying a word. Cen Simiao lowered her eyes, waiting a minute before following him over.
With clear eyes: "What did you come here for?"
Wu Lichen turned on the faucet and washed his hands in no hurry, then turned to look at her with a flat expression. "Where’s the towel?"
Cen Simiao was starting to be a bit impatient and so asked again.
He raised his eyes. "What do you think I’m here to do?"
Without waiting for Cen Simiao to speak, he continued, "I don’t have any money left, here to eat off of you."
"After all, you have to ‘support’ me," said very self-righteously.
