Cen Simiao stared at the box with the favorability bar. Having not concerned herself for a few days, she was now shocked by the hot searches on Weibo, which immediately dumbfounded her.

Unexpectedly, someone had taken their pictures that day when she had gone to see Hu Yinli. Hu Yinli's face was generously clear front and center, meanwhile, it only caught half of her side profile, which was even partly blocked by her hair.

But this photo was comparatively nothing much.

What was more deadly was, there was also a picture of her holding hands with Wu Lichen, appearing very intimate, where it was also her side profile while Wu Lichen's face was obvious.

Although Cen Simiao’s full face had not been captured in either, from just the body figure, one could see that the two women were the same person.

The comment section below the piece exploded:

@Xiao Li Who Likes to Eat Fish: I don’t understand what happening in this f★ck★ng entertainment industry! What the h★ll is going on!

@Yo Yu Ji: Putting it this way, Wu Lichen's background sure is strong enough. No wonder Hu Yinli spoke out for him.

@Reddened Reddened Need To Turn Back: Guys, don’t think about it so messily. This woman has a lot of money, several of Wu Lichen’s dramas were invested by her. I surmise she knows Hu Yinli, that both of them are super-rich.

@Don't Make A Fuss I’m Scared: What what what? I'm a bit confused. Wu Lichen really is contracted[2]???!

@Leaning Against The Wall Watching The Excitement: Isn’t that obvious, a rich woman next to a young man, you guys still don't understand?

Discussions over guessing whether Wu Lichen was being supported were pinned to the top of the comments, meanwhile, there were only a few that discussed Cen Simiao. And even with those, they only had a couple of likes and no replies, appearing particularly deserted.

Cen Simiao’s heart sank straight to the bottom.

The winner of life progress bar that she had been keeping watch over had almost risen to 80%, but now, it has decreased again. Most importantly though, at this point, who would still dare to want the dramas in her hand.

There goes all the investment.

Feeling a terrible headache, she gnashed her teeth and asked the system who did it.

The system tinkered about it for a long time, then particularly hesitant and with a bit of self-doubt, "Actually, my data’s from a while ago, and it’s not very reliable. It might, might not be accurate."

Cen Simiao was starting to lose her patience.

System: "Wu Lichen found someone to do it."

"......"

The topic stayed in the top five hot searches for an entire day.

Many of the actors who had been in the same crew as Wu Lichen before were pulled into the water as well one after another, and many sightseer passersby followed along to join the excitement online. Some actors didn’t like or plan to cause trouble and so simply pretended to be dead and oblivious.

Whereas, there are also some who wanted to take the opportunity to rub off a bit of the heat and enthusiasm, who put on a variety of skits to attract new fans.

Ye Minchi’s reaction was the most unique. She was an actress of this group that could be considered to have gained some fame and had a decent amount of fans. First, she sent out a rather empty and irrelevant sentence on Weibo:

@Xiao Min Is Superman: When formidable wings become broken, will it then become a fatal weakness?

The comment section below was filled with sarcastic remarks, all of them feeling as if there was some meaning behind these words.

A while later, she then sent out another microblog about how people should be self-reliant.

In the eyes of netizens, this was equivalent to affirming the matter of Wu Lichen being kept as a little white face.

Cen Simiao held her phone as her body trembled from anger, wishing she could just strangle Wu Lichen. All of a sudden, the recent hot searches were refreshed. She nervously swallowed, then tapped it open to have a look.

The number one hot topic was #Wu Lichen#.

After tapping in, what met the eyes was a microblog that Wu Lichen had forwarded five minutes ago.

@Wu Lichen: Eating soft rice[3]. // @Intoxicated Cat Doter: Can I ask you what you depended on to get to the position you’re at today?

Cen Simiao directly put down her phone and pulled open the kitchen door, her face ashen. Wu Lichen was at that moment playing with his phone while leaning against the stove. He looked up, seemingly puzzled.

"What's the matter? Your complexion’s so ugly."

Cen Simiao felt a vein on her head pop out. "What nonsense are you pulling on Weibo?"

Wu Lichen appeared to have misgivings. "What are you talking about? I only just took up my phone, what happened on Weibo?"

Cen Simiao took a deep breath.

A while later, Wu Lichen was frowning while looking at that microblog of his. "Eh, when did my account get hacked?"

Cen Simiao felt that she was going to blow up. She forced herself to be calm, but her tone still carried anger. Then, she couldn’t hold it in anymore and started to yell at this person in front of her. Wu Lichen hung his head, feeling rather bewildered, with a trace of grievance in his eyes.

No matter what Cen Simiao said to him, he just accepted it without speaking a word.

When she finally didn't have the strength to shout anymore, he then pursed his lips and with a low and gentle voice, such that it made people subconsciously want to trust him, "I really don't know what's going on. Since someone had even deliberately schemed to take the photos, then it's nothing difficult to hack the account."

He raised his eyes to look up at her. "With something like this happening, the impact must be quite significant."

Cen Simiao didn't want to scold him anymore and was ready to turn around to walk away. But then she suddenly heard: "But, I do have a solution."

Her brows furrowed.

Wu Lichen stared at her. "We get married."

[2] ‘Contracted’ like in paid/hired lover/mistress/etc. English: ‘sugar baby’ relationship.

[3] Raw: 吃软饭 [chī ruǎn fàn] Literal translation: ‘eat soft rice’, basically implies relying on a woman/living off of a woman’s money.

YinYue has something to say:

Ah~ Finally here~ I should be able to spam post the chapter until Arc 3 starting tomorrow, but I do have to make edits to them... And I'm actually not too sure whether I have Chapter 12 fully translated before or just the second part... But again, shouldn't take too long.

So tomorrow's situation is either:

  1. I post 2-3 re-edited, updated chapters, or
  2. I post only Chapter 12 because I had to translate the first half first.
Wish me luck!
And again, ask questions or leave comments in the comments below~
