The light in the living room was on, making the room quite bright. As soon as the water dispenser finished boiling, Wu Lichen went over with a teacup to retrieve some. The curled-up tea leaves were steeped by the steaming hot water and instantly unfurled.

He placed back the lid of the cup.

He carried it back to the coffee table and lowered his eyes. Cen Simiao was leaning against the sofa with a frown fixed on her face as she stared at the marriage certificate in her hand rather gravely.

Standing under the overhanging light, his shadow was cast upon the wall, his neck was slightly lowered at an angle as his Adam's apple bobbed. He bent at the waist to put the cup down on the table, then walked over to Cen Simiao’s side.

However, she didn't seem to have noticed.

Wu Lichen called out to her, "Cen-jie?"

Cen Simiao finally recovered from her daze and turned to look at him with pursed lips. The emotions in her eyes were complicated while her chin was pulled taut and her body slightly trembled. Only after a long period did she manage to ask, "You, what are you doing?"

Wu Lichen hesitated, then shifted his arm to the side a bit farther away from her before sitting down on the sofa. "We’re a married couple now."

Cen Simiao pressed down on her excitement. "I know, then you..."

He pursed his lips. "I respect you. I won't force you on this."

With a particularly sincere tone and rather gentle eyes, Wu Lichen reached for the teacup, gave it a blow to clear some of the steam, then handed it to Cen Simiao.

"You've been suppressing your anger these few days, drink some tea to dispel some of the heat."

Cen Simiao felt like there just weren’t enough words in this world for her to explain all her difficulties.

When Cen Simiao came out of the bathroom after her bath in the evening, her cheeks were flushed from the steamy shower, making her complexion seem even fairer. She slipped on a nightgown, laid down on the bed, and proceeded to stare at the ceiling.

After a while, she heaved a long sigh and covered her heart with a hand.

This is too f★ck★ng aggrieving.

The system suddenly popped out, opened up the progress bar display, and put on a particularly festive BGM. "Quick, take a look! What’s going on with this favorability level, it’s rising so fast? Just before, I thought everything was going to be game over already."

Cen Simiao glanced at it and paused, then just as she was about to start complaining, there was a knock at the door.

She cleared her throat. "What's the matter?"

The person outside was silent for a moment before answering, "I left my phone in your room."

Cen Simiao lowered her eyes, then with a tone that seemed not to care, "Then get it tomorrow, I've already laid down."

Wu Lichen: "But..."

"I'm sleepy."

There was a muffled response from the other side of the door.

Cen Simiao's eyes drifted in that direction. If you have the ability, then you can hold it in. Let's see which of us can endure it longer.

After only a day, the news of Wu Lichen's marriage had already spread all over the internet. In the beginning, only one or two microblogs posted saying they had run into them in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

The depictions were very vivid.

And so, like this, it exploded.

The comments were either scolding the idiotic fans or scolding that Wu Lichen was forcibly being washed white. However, a photo was hung for everyone to see: the two people were intimately holding hands. What else could they say?

The most important thing was, after digging out all the variety shows and TV dramas Wu Lichen had been in, they found that Cen Simiao had participated in them as well!

The blogger who had ranted was unconvinced. Gritting his teeth, he scolded back against a few dozen posts, which should have been selected as a top comment.

@The Sister Who Loves Beauty The Most: Can this troll keep a bit of face? What are you doing coming to my microblog to act crazy? I started using this account three years ago. I have never chased after the idols. What whitewashing? I don't have the spare time.

The comments below too were filled with ridicule.

It also wasn’t peaceful over on Hu Yinli’s side, whose originally good reputation had followed along and disappeared. However, he was rather joyous even though he hadn’t been able to scoop up any benefits and his company's business was in a sorry plight.

But as long as Wu Lichen was in a poor state, that was enough.

Seeing the news of the marriage, he scoffed. After closing his eyes, he recalled what Cen Simiao said that day. Her expression was cold and her words cut like a knife, it was very pragmatic.

Compared to when they first met, it was as if she was a completely different person.

At best, this news was sent out to distract the attention of the public. In the end, how could it be real? If Cen Simiao really married, she would have chosen someone with money.

Hu Yinli absent-mindedly scrolled through on the screen when suddenly his eyes were fixed.

@I'm Just Someone Who Enjoys Watching the Excitement Unafraid of Big Drama: Speaking of, why have you all just determined that the other must be being kept? Why couldn’t it have just been a normal romantic relationship? I also saw them in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau. [rolling eyes]

Below were five secretly taken pictures.

Cen Simiao was wearing a plain dress, her hair scattered over on her shoulders while she hugged Wu Lichen's arm. Their heads were close together as if they were saying something to each other. The smiles on their faces were considerably sweet.

There was another one where Wu Lichen was standing to the side, watching Cen Simiao as she used a small mirror. His eyes were full of pampering but his smile revealed a trace of distaste.

In the one immediately after, Cen Simiao raised her hand to hit him on the shoulder. With a slight frown, her eyes reflected a trace of bashful anger and coquettishness.

And another, this time, they were facing each other.
