Cen Simiao lived at the hotel for a good period of time before heading back home when it was time to discuss the gallery matter. As soon as she entered the door, before she could even catch her breath, the landline rang.
She was stunned for a moment before recovering and going over to pick up the phone.
Displayed on the screen was Hu Yinli’s number.
Pulling out her cell phone from her purse: there is still battery, the signal is fine. Cen Simiao’s eyes narrowed.
The call connected. "Yinli."
There was an obvious pause from the other side, seemingly having not expected the call to actually be picked up. Fatigue permeated the voice: "Miaomiao, where did you run off to play?"
In the past few days, those pictures that Cen Simiao had posted to her friends circle about having gone out to play were something that Hu Yinli knew about. However, contrary to what she said about just going out for two or three days, comparing it to the current date, she should have been back at home for a week by now.
Cen Simiao opened the suitcase. "Why didn't you call my cell phone?"
This sentence didn’t sound sulking or depressed, but rather seemed to have a hint of anger or upset.
Hu Yinli’s brows were locked in a frown, while his appearance was anything but relaxed. "Where have you been all these days?"
"At home."
Hu Yinli’s gripped on the cell phone tightened, starting to get a bit angry. "Don’t you try to fool your way out of this."
Cen Simiao took a glance at the phone, then turned on the speakerphone and placed it on the floor, freeing up both hands to unpack and organize her clothes. Hearing nothing from her side, Hu Yinli became even more anxious.
By the end of it, the volume of his voice rose and it sounded even more like quarreling.
Cen Simiao’s voice softened all of a sudden, carrying a hint of tears: "What are you even asking me this for, do you care? How long has it been since we saw each other, can you even count the days?"
Hu Yinli gritted his teeth from having his weak point pointed out like this all of a sudden.
Cen Simiao continued to say, "You keep on calling the home phone these days but are unwilling to call my cell no matter what, just what are you so suspicious about?"
"Hu Yinli, do you think you’ve treated me fairly?"
After she finished saying this, she directly hung up the call.
But it immediately started to ring again. Cen Simiao gave it a glance, then proceeded to ignore it.
Cen Simiao has also made some progress on the gallery matter. Xu Senni was very diligent and hands-on, taking care of everything by herself. However, the other person would also come and ask her for ideas and to discuss should the situation come up.
A certain batch of paintings had caught Xu Senni’s eyes. Although they were not painted by any particularly famous artists, they could all be considered works of some rising stars.
As the business was just getting started, there was a need to build the business’ capital, so she didn’t want to sign on as an agent to these paintings but instead, wanted to directly buy the paintings first. However, then the cost would be particularly high.
She wore a troubled look and hesitated for several days, to which Cen Simiao simply patted her knee and responded with a: "Just buy it, what are you afraid of? My husband isn’t short of money."
Xu Senni thus glanced at her, with a smile hidden in her eyes.
Paintings can be divided into genuine productions and imitations.
Xu Senni's calculation on this matter was quite daring. If she buys a batch of fakes with a large sum of money then hangs them in the gallery, the reputation of the gallery would definitely fall into the gutters, it would be able to successfully pit Cen Simiao. Whereas, for her, it would leave her no harm or affect, since there wouldn’t be any traces of her having a hand in this aside from having invested a bit of money.
Moreover, imitations are cheap, so that sum of money will end up falling into her pocket.
She originally planned to just keep the money, but it so happened that the genuine paintings were also available and had instantly attracted her eyes, rendering her unable to move her head away. So she could only grit her teeth and bought the real ones as well.
Secretly storing them nearby.
Meanwhile, Cen Simiao didn't realize anything at all and would continue to call out to her “Xu-jie” “Xu-jie” every day.
So right now, the only thing that gave her a headache was Hu Yinli. His thoughts seemed to have moved in some other direction, planning something who knew what. Thinking about running off every day, if she wasn't watching him so closely, he probably would have gone over to Cen Simiao’s side already.
In the twinkling of an eye, a month had passed, and Wu Lichen's drama was almost finished being filmed. As soon as he had time to rest, he would ponder over the script, or otherwise, send messages to Cen Simiao.
No posts, just shares.
【How a woman can open herself to her inner heart, so as to not miss out on fate!】
【Open your eyes and take a look outside, why let 100m^2 restrict you.】
【Love is sacred...】
Cen Simiao stared at the message history on a screen, swallowed to moisten her throat, then looked around at her surroundings. She then replied with all seriousness and sincerity:
【The house here is quite big, there’s 300m^2.】
It took the other side five minutes to reply back:
【I still think the sofa is more comfortable.】
And so very f★ck★ng fecklessly, Cen Simiao ran over there to nestle in his sofa.
The result was, the first person she ran into wasn’t Wu Lichen - who was still filming - but another male actor who was in the same crew and had recognized Cen Simiao with just a glance, directly calling out a ‘Jie’ towards her.
Who was also dead-set on taking her around the set for a tour.
Luo Yu was both big and tall, and when he smiled, there would be two dimples on his cheek. His eyes were clear, and his entire being seemed to exude a personality that was sunny and cheerful. When Cen Simiao arrived at the set, her eyes swept and scanned through the place but didn't see Wu Lichen.
Luo Yu came forward with a smile to pull Cen Simiao's arm, which she avoided without making it seem obvious. His eyes were still curved from his smile, not feeling at all embarrassed. "You won’t be able to see him from here, we’ll have to head a bit further in. I'll take you over."
Wu Lichen was currently filming the scene when his character first met the female lead.
The peach blossoms were still budding, and a slight breeze was slowly blowing through the air that was full of cloying sweetness.
He was originally just standing there, back straight with a gloomy expression, but then he suddenly looked up and saw Ye Minchi who under the peach blossom tree. He was stunned for a moment, then his eyes were no longer sharp like before, instead, they became gentle, and his lips also began to carry an unconscious smile.
It was almost as if he became a different person.
You’ve come.
Cen Simiao stood not far from Ye Minchi, behind the other, as she smiled at Wu Lichen. Wasn’t I supposed to come? If I still didn’t come, who knows what other kinds of messages he would send.
When she was on her way, there was a WeChat notification:
【Your friend has shared a post: Boy committed suicide only because he was unable to see his girlfriend for three days.】
YinYue has something to say:
And with this, I am finished with catching up to... ahahah, to where I started(?) 😂
